Monte Albán’s Free Audio Tour Now Available in Spanish

Since day one, our free 5-stop self-guided audio tour of Monte Albán has been available in English — and visitors from around the world have loved it. Today, we’re excited to announce that the tour is now also available in Spanish. This means that even more people can experience the wonder of Monte Albán in their own language, connecting deeply with its history and culture.
The Spanish version features the same five stops that capture the essence of the site: the North Platform, The Dancers, the South Platform, the Observatory (Building J), and the Ballcourt. Each stop is narrated with care, combining history, art, and cultural meaning to bring Monte Albán to life.
Why This Matters
- Spanish-speaking visitors can now enjoy the same enriching experience as English speakers.
- It’s completely free, designed to promote Monte Albán among the world’s great archaeological sites.
- Perfect for families, students, and travelers who want to understand the site more fully.
- Accessible right from your phone — no apps, no fees, just history at your fingertips.
We created this tour as a way to give back, to help every visitor walk away from Monte Albán with more than photos — with a real connection to Zapotec civilization. Adding Spanish is an important step in making sure the stories of this UNESCO World Heritage site are accessible to everyone who visits.
The Spanish version is now live and ready to download here. Whether you’ve visited before or are planning your first trip, this is the perfect way to experience Monte Albán on your own terms.
